21:26Now PlayingSenator Whitehouse discusses President Trump’s controversial nomination of Brian Benczkowski to lead the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice. Something is fishy about this nomination.
Mr. Benczkowski has less courtroom time than the average citizen who has sat on a jury. He has never tried a case, of any sort, criminal or civil, federal or state. He has represented a Russian bank with alleged backchannel ties to the Trump campaign that might be under investigation by DOJ. He is a former aide to Attorney General Session, who is recused from DOJ Russia investigation.
What could go wrong? Plenty.
