Bruen.” In Bruen, the Supreme Court invalidated a 100-year-old New York law regulating licenses for the concealed carry of firearms.
The Court’s conclusions regarding how the New York law was being applied and how it compared to other states were not supported by any factual record assembled below. At least twelve amici funded by the National Rifle Association filed briefs in Bruen; the petitioner was an NRA affiliate; and much of the history supporting petitioner was offered up by scholars who received NRA funding.
