The August 9 shooting death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri ignited protests that have become increasingly intense for over a week. Mostly minority protesters have clashed with authorities in escalating nightly demonstrations, which have led Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon to declare a state of emergency and triggered the deployment of the National Guard to the St. Louis suburb.
VICE News headed to Ferguson to capture the struggle between police and protesters in what has become a flashpoint for race in America.
