Kirsten Gilibrand is a NY state senator whose legislation and social action work toward women's equality is recognized nationally. She passed the historic Lily Ledbetter fair pay act, is a tireless advocate for human trafficking victims, pushes to end campus rape, and
is a champion for paid family maternity leave.
Gillibrand started her career as an attorney at a corporate practice, but longing to effect change for underrepresented communities, she committed herself to a life of public service. She has been a leading voice for women's equality since running for office in 2006.
