Fake News has been an integral part of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine ever since the unrest unfolded in 2014. StopFake, a Kiev-based body work weekly to debunk anti-Ukrainian stories put forward by Russian media – from falsified stories about a child being crucified by Ukrainian servicemen in the city of Slavyansk to claims that sanctions on Russian banks are actually damaging the Ukrainian economy – but it’s not just a one-sided campaign with the pro-Kiev media certainly guilty of using similar tactics.
