The march organizer, Joni Mack is a registered Republican who doesn’t agree with much of the party’s platform. In fact, Joni considers herself a progressive on most issues. That’s a tough thing to be in rural Wyoming.
Wyoming has progressive roots — its nickname is the Equality State, because it passed the country’s first women’s suffrage bill back in 1869. But Wyoming has long been a deep red state, a remote place where people like being far away from the federal government.
VICE News follows Joni and her fellow marchers as they set out to rally in Pinedale, Wyoming— a town that went heavily for Trump.
