For the first time in four years, McDonald’s has failed to meet their quarterly sales targets.

Now, the CEO is blaming it on “misinformation” fueled by the “war” as well as protests across the globe calling for a boycott of the fast food giant.

This comes after now-deleted social media posts from their Israeli chains appeared to show staff feeding IDF soldiers for free.

"This is disheartening and ill-founded,” McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said. "In every country where we operate, including in Muslim countries, McDonald's is proudly represented by local owner operators."

The biggest impact came from sales out of the Middle East, where Kempczinski said "so long as this war is going on... we're not expecting to see any significant improvement”.
