Chris Miller, our next guest on the Shawn Ryan Show, shares with us how he became the acting SecDef under Trump from 2020-2021. Chris begins to walk us through his career as a Special Forces Green Beret, being a part of the 200 soldiers who were credited for defeating the Taliban during the initial invasion of Afghanistan. He then talks about being the QRF (quick reaction force) for the 12-man A-team, commonly referred to as the horse soldiers, who faced friendly fire from a B-52 bomber, resulting in 3 American KIA.
Later in the interview, Chris describes what it was like to watch the raid of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi LIVE on a Predator drone feed. The mission was led by Delta Force and was named after Kayla Mueller. Mueller, a 26-year-old humanitarian aid worker, was working with Syrian refugees in southern Turkey when she took a work-related trip for Doctors Without Borders in August 2013 to Aleppo, Syria. It was there that she was taken captive by ISIS fighters and held hostage for 18 months until her death in 2015.
