Johnson, who was convicted of touching a 15-year-old girl intimately, was told by a judge he would received a "substantial prison sentence" and he would not see his one-year-old child "for some time".
The former Sunderland winger was released on bail and Judge Jonathan Rose said to him: "You can say goodbye to your daughter."
Earlier in the day, the 28-year-old defendant was cleared of another similar charge - relating to an alleged sex act.
