It comes in light of Prime Minister David Cameron publishing details of his own finances, following the mishandling of the Panama Papers scandal.
Speaking on Sky News' Murnaghan programme, McDonnell said: "The general public are really concerned about the fairness of the taxation system. So I think it will set a good standard for us all."
