as posted by the channel

Sky News has launched an official parliamentary petition to make leader debates happen at the next General Election.

The first ever debates took place in 2010 after a campaign by Sky News and it was hoped that they would become a regular fixture of UK elections. But that first time is, so far, still the last time such debates happened.

Now we need your help to introduce a system that will hold our leaders to account and answer the questions that you want answered before you vote.

A response was given to the petition after 10,000 signatures was reached.

The cabinet office have said the government 'has no plans to change electoral law to make televised elections debates mandatory'.
