YouTube Description
as posted by the channelOne of the country's policing leaders has warned the police service is "heading towards a cliff edge" unless forces are properly funded.
Bedfordshire Chief Constable Jon Boutcher said the situation was rapidly "becoming unsustainable".
Even though the Home Office has just announced a one-off four-and-a-half million pounds grant to Bedfordshire to help tackle violent crime, the Chief Constable said that doesn’t address the force’s long term funding shortfall.
Sky News was granted unrestricted access to follow the work of Bedfordshire's officers and staff, as the force grapples with under resourced departments and record demand for its services.
Sky's Mark White has this special report.
