Norwegian MP Heidi Lunde, of the governing Conservative Party, thinks a short-term option would not work.
She told Sky News: “I don’t want EFTA to be the rebound partner that the UK comes to after breaking up with the EU.”
If the vote on the PM’s deal fails then all of these plans - renegotiation, Norway, a referendum, a general election – will need to be looked at.
