Singer Ellie Goulding is campaigning for a ‘political push’ on homelessness telling Sky News how she supports people on the street with her role at Crisis.

Figures suggest more than 170,000 families and individuals across Britain are experiencing the worst forms of homelessness.

She told Sky News: “I think just being conscious, just knowing it’s a problem on the rise and spreading that awareness and talking about it.

“I think sometimes it is a problem that people have to ignore because it is so horrible and so sad to see."

The Government aims to end rough sleeping by 2027 in a new strategy funded by 100 million over two years.

She added: "If I can teach my fans and younger people that, I think it can be a nicer place."
