7:51Now PlayingThe former deputy press secretary of The White House tells Sky News what it's like when Donald Trump throws the rulebook of politics out the window.
Raj Shah told Sky's Cordelia Lynch, in his first broadcast interview since he left office, that the team managing the President's messaging were not always aware of what he was about to tweet until it was posted.
He said: "He was making news on daily basis. More often than not, the staff were aware to a large degree about where things were going… Yeah, but I mean at times it caught us a little bit off-guard, and we kind of had to roll with it.
"And that’s sort of the nature of this White House, this President, everybody kind of rolls with the fact that he can make decisions at any time that he deems fit.“
Mr Shah was previously in charge of opposition research at the Republican National Committee and confirmed he was 'won' over by Trump's primary campaign.
