7:16Now PlayingBrexit Secretary Stephen Barclay says MPs have to 'respect the role of speaker' after the ruling on a new vote placed another obstacle in front of Theresa May.
Her deal was rejected by 149 votes and in a ruling John Bercow cited a centuries-old convention which would not allow a new meaningful vote unless it is "substantially" different.
One solution could be to ask for a new Queens' Speech as to end one session of parliament and begin another.
But Mr Barclay said this was 'not the way forward'.
