Ms Swinson, the Lib Dem leader, has already signed up - and is considering legal action after being excluded from an ITV debate, between the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition.
ITV have tonight defended their debate plans - and made clear it would be just one part of a package of programming in which other parties would feature.
