as posted by the channelTransport Secretary Grant Shapps promised more cycle lanes, wider pavements and extra charging points for electric vehicles as part of a £2bn package to allow people to travel without using public transport.
In the daily coronavirus briefing, he said that even if public transport reverts back to its regular service, with social distancing in place there would only be space for 10% of passengers.
He said encouraging people to cycle and walk to work will be a key part of easing the lockdown.
