5:40Now PlayingHealth Secretary Matt Hancock announced the UK has signed contracts with pharmaceutical companies to supply over 10 million antibody tests in the coming months and will start by rolling these out to health and care staff, patients and residents from next week.
It follows the approval of tests made by Roche and Abbott, which detect whether someone has already had COVID-19 and has antibodies that could help them fight the virus in the future.
He cautioned that there’s no guarantee of immunity if you have already had the virus as this is still being researched.
