He accused the Murdoch-owned Sun of supporting fracking and a reduction in taxes for fossil fuel companies.
More than 60 people have been arrested during protests by the climate activists outside two printing presses - which have led to a delay in some newspapers hitting stands.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Priti Patel both called XR's actions "completely unacceptable".
