as posted by the channel

The Prime Minister has thanked the public for putting up with coronavirus restrictions across the UK.

'To all those enduring these restrictions... in all parts of the country, I want to repeat my thanks for your bravery, for your patience, and for your public spirited-ness', he said.

Mr Johnson said the restrictions were working, and that the R number is now half its 'natural rate'.
