He told Trevor Phillips On Sunday 70% of people in western nations are fully vaccinated compared with only 2% of those in Africa.
He added: "It's bad for them, it's bad for us, because the disease will come back to haunt us from Africa and hurt even the fully vaccinated here with new variants."
