5:44Now PlayingShadow Attorney General Emily Thornberry has backed Sir Keir Starmer after he vowed to resign if he is fined by police for breaking COVID rules.
"He shows there is integrity and honesty in politics - that all politicians are not the same,” she said.
"At a time of increasing cynicism in politics and politicians, not just in Britain but around the world, I think it's a really important stand to take. Both Angela Rayner and Keir Starmer have said they have not broken any rules, but if they are fined they will resign - and I think that is the right thing to do.
"This is a guy who has spent many years as the chief prosecutor in the country - he knows how important rules are."
