as posted by the channelThe European Union has said the UK's plan to alter parts of the Brexit agreement is "not acceptable", and raises the prospect of a trade war if the Government goes ahead.
The Foreign Secretary Liz Truss outlined proposals to change sections of the deal relating to trade with Northern Ireland. The plans have been cautiously welcomed by the Democratic Unionists, who are refusing to restore the devolved government in Northern Ireland over the issue.
