No areas are officially in a drought so far, but most of England has already moved into "prolonged dry weather" status - the first of four drought categories.
Officials at the Environment Agency (EA) are already transferring water to low-running rivers, rescuing fish and re-oxygenating water while water companies are urging people to save water.
