5:42Now PlayingForeign Office minister Andrew Mitchell says the security situation in Sudan is rapidly deteriorating, prompting the UK government to evacuate all staff.
More than 1,200 personnel were involved in the "highly complex" operation which was completed yesterday.
Mr Mitchell stressed that the safety and security of British nationals in Sudan is the top priority, with all UK citizens asked to register their presence with the Foreign Office.
However, he warned that movement around the capital is dangerous and that no evacuation option comes without grave risk to life.
