MPs will examine the Metropolitan Police’s use of live facial recognition technology, in place during the coronation, and potential future AI-based tools.
Giving evidence today is Lindsey Chiswick, Director of Intelligence at the Met Police, and Dr. Tony Mansfield, the Principal Research Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory.
The session comes following reports that the policing minister Chris Philp will push for facial recognition to be rolled out across police forces nationally.
