Dorset Council says Home Office contractors were notified about the results last Monday - but all 39 migrants only left the controversial site on Friday as a "precautionary measure".
Health secretary Steve Barclay was asked whether or not people should be put back on the Bibby Stockholm, he said: "Yes I do - it's costing six million pounds a day in hotels - it is right that we're using the barges."
