8:35Now PlayingWe asked Health Secretary Steve Barclay about a story in The Guardian newspaper that said Rishi Sunak blocked plans by the Department for Health to rebuild five hospitals with unsafe concrete during his time as chancellor.
Mr Barclay did not deny the report, but said Mr Sunak as chancellor brought in a £700m fund in 2021 for that concrete to be replaced.
He said ministers had been following advice from the Institute for Structural Engineers about monitoring and assessing the strength of existing RAAC and replacing it as needed.
