11:03Now PlayingScotland's first minister Humza Yousaf has told Sky News he feels "powerless and helpless" and issued a plea for the international community to set up humanitarian corridors - so people including his parents-in-law can leave Gaza as war rages with Israel.
Elizabeth El-Nakla along with her husband Maged, have been "trapped" following the Hamas attack on Israel and subsequent retaliation.
Speaking to Sky's political editor Beth Rigby, Mr Yousaf wiped away tears as he said: "I cannot tell you Beth, how powerless and helpless I feel. Not just for my own mother-in-law and in-laws.
"It doesn't matter who you are. Whether you are first minister, you're a journalist, whoever you are - your first instinct is to protect your family, as best as you can.
"And I am completely powerless. The only thing I can do is share their story."
