The BBC's director-general, Tim Davie, was asked what conversations were had over 'language to do with Hamas'.

It comes as he addressed MPs in a rare appearance in front of the 1922 Committee due to the corporation facing criticism for its coverage of the Israel-Hamas war.

He said that it was "a regular meeting" and a "private conversation".
