The Israeli military disclosed yesterday that Monday was its bloodiest day since its ground operations began inside Gaza, with 10 troopers killed.
There is growing international pressure from all sides for Benjamin Netanyahu, who has faced growing criticism from the US, Israel's closest ally, in recent days.
And a UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza passed with an overwhelming majority.
