7:06Now PlayingChildren's Minister David Johnston says the government is "determined to end the asylum merry-go-round" as it has emerged the chemical attack suspect was granted asylum after he was convicted of a sexual offence.
Abdul Shokoor Ezedi is the prime suspect in an attack in which a corrosive fluid was thrown onto a woman and her two children in Clapham, south London, on Wednesday.
It is believed Ezedi was convicted of a sexual offence in 2018 and later granted asylum - having previously been denied twice.
David Johnston also discusses the government's plans to extend free childcare as a recruitment campaign is launched to attract more people to work in the sector.
In addition, he speaks about MP safety following the resignation of Mike Freer, saying there are "far too many" of his colleagues, particularly women, who receive death threats.
