2:27Now PlayingThe UK armed forces are losing personnel faster than they can recruit, leaving their "warfighting readiness" in doubt, according to a new report by the Defence Committee.
The committee's chair, Jeremy Quin MP, said shortages in weapons, ammunition and people were particularly concerning in light of the increased threat posed by Russia's war in Ukraine.
It comes as the Royal Navy announced its most powerful warship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, would not be taking part in the largest NATO exercise in Europe since the Cold War due to a mechanical issue.
