5:20Now PlayingFollowing Suella Braverman's announcement that she wouldn't be running to be the next Conservative party leader, shadow transport secretary Helen Whately hit out at the former home secretary.
When asked for her view of Ms Braverman, Ms Whately said: "I haven't declared who I'll be backing, though I do know that I wouldn't have backed Suella."
Ms Whately also defended the state of public finances, saying that when Labour took office earlier this month, the UK "had the fastest growing economy in the G7", and that the public finances had faced the challenges of COVID and the war in Ukraine.
