2:14Now PlayingOver 400 people have been arrested across the UK. Twenty eight people were due to appear in the Middlesbrough Magistrates Court on 7 August, all related to the violence that broke out in the city.
According to the CPS, 100 people have been charged with offences relating to the riots.
There were also hearings in Liverpool, Sheffield and Leeds, from charges relating to violent disorder,
criminal damage and even assault of police and emergency workers.
The Justice Minister Heidi Alexander said that 567 additional prison spaces would soon come into use to deal with the rioters.
