6:34Now PlayingHome Secretary Yvette Cooper opened the third day of Labour conference in Liverpool reiterating the party's promise to halve knife crime in a decade.
Ms Cooper touched on the attack in Southport, where three young girls were killed at a dance class, saying the riots sparked after the tragedy happened because criminals "thought they would get away with it" and "saw cracks in the system."
Sky's Mhari Aurora has this analysis of the speech.
