A new miniature scanner that generates highly detailed images in just seconds, could pave the way for more accurate cancer and arthritis diagnoses.

Developed by researchers at the University College London, it can deliver imaging scans to doctors in real time.

The scanner avoids the risk from X-rays and is smaller than MRI machines but can reveal details neither of them can.

Sky's science and technology editor Tom Clarke takes a closer look at the scanner.
