Sky News military analyst Prof Michael Clarke says Israel is attempting to push Hezbollah north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon.

But he warned that the operation would be a "big ask", with the mountainous terrain and Hezbollah tunnels posing a major obstacle for the Israelis.

Around 25,000 Israeli soldiers are thought to be involved in the operation.

Israel says it has gone into southern Lebanon to flush out Hezbollah militants who are firing rockets into northern Israel.
