The former One Direction singer died after falling from a hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday evening.
Ms Waissel recently hit out at the music industry, claiming it treats talent like commodities, saying Liam always offered her "unwavering support" during her darkest moments.
She spoke with Sky's Sarah-Jane Mee about memories of her friend saying he was her "pillar of strength" before and after the show.
