Defence Secretary John Healey told the Commons the equipment was "outdated" and it was "common sense" to retire them.
Mr Healy said "we are facing increasing global threats" and the cuts would bring resiliance to the military.
The announcement came as Ukraine used British Storm Shadows missiles to attack targets in Russia for the first time.
