The round-the-clock protests in Georgia's capital city continued as the first session of the newly-elected government commenced.

The Georgian Dream party says it won the hotly-contested election, claiming 54% of the vote, extending its 12 years in power.

The country's president, Salome Zourabichvili, said various methods were used to rig the election but argued the introduction of new electronic voting machines was key.
