Leading safeguarding expert Simon Bailey said a decision by social workers to close Sara's case after teachers found bruises on her face must be scrutinised, as an independent safeguarding review will examine what more could have been done to protect her.

It comes after Sara Sharif's father and stepmother have been found guilty of murdering the 10-year-old before fleeing to Pakistan as Sky's Becky Johnson reports.
