5:03Now PlayingSir Keir Starmer has hit back at those who criticised his and Jess Phillips' handling of child grooming gangs.
X owner Elon Musk tweeted last week that the safeguarding minister Ms Phillips was an "evil witch" and a "rape genocide apologist" who should be jailed.
"Those that are spreading lies and misinformation as far and as wide as possible are not interested in victims, they are interested in themselves," the prime minister told a news conference, held to announced NHS reforms.
"What I won't tolerate is politicians jumping on the bandwagon simply to get attention, when those politicians sat in government for 14 long years, tweeting, talking, but not doing anything about it. Now, so desperate for attention that they're amplifying what the far-right is saying."
Officials were accused of ignoring claims young girls were being abused by organised groups of Asian men in the town of Rotherham from the late 1980s until 2013.
