2:59Now PlayingThere has been a war of words between the president-elect Donald Trump and the governor of California, Gavin Newsom.
As the death toll rises to 16 and countless more people are left homeless, a blame game is taking hold among those in power dealing with the crisis.
Mr Trump called Mr Newsom and LA mayor Karen Bass' leadership "gross incompetence" and blamed them for "a total wipe out" in Los Angeles.
He said in a social media post: "This is one of the worst catastrophes in the history of our country. They just can't put out the fires. What's wrong with them?"
The governor has responded to the incoming president's comments in an interview with NBC/Meet the Press. He's hit back at what he calls "misinformation" coming from Mr Trump.
