Shadow home secretary Chris Philp has accused the government of not doing enough to crack down on small boat crossings.

Mr Philp said crossings had gone up by 28% under Labour - he blamed the scrapping of the Tories' plan to deport anyone who arrived via small boat to Rwanda.

The government said today it had deported 19,000 migrants who did not have a right to be in the UK since coming to power.
