Speaking at a news conference, the Ukrainian president said he "really wanted at least one sentence" mentioning security guarantees - and said Ukrainian officials have told him it is there.
Donald Trump says he wants a $500bn deal to access Ukraine's mineral wealth as a payment for US support in the war against Russia.
Mr Zelenskyy also said he aimed to meet President Trump on Friday - but the trip was not confirmed.
