The 36-year-old appeared in the White House during his St. Patrick's Day visit to Washington DC.
But the Irish prime minister Micheal Martin has been critical of the meeting, posting on X saying that McGregor's views "do not reflect the spirit of St Patrick's Day, or the views of the people of Ireland."
Speaking exclusively to Sky's senior Ireland correspondent David Blevins, Mr McGregor hits back at the comments, saying "the government of Ireland has failed the people of Ireland", and that Trump is "a great man".
