as posted by the channelSir Crawford Falconer, the UK's former chief trade negotiator, tells Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips that the UK must determine whether it can negotiate with the US using traditional methods.
Falconer believes the UK's role now is to promote free trade with other nations, demonstrating to Trump that the UK is not dependent on the US, and there's no reason why this can't include the EU.
"The government said it's never going to do a customs union or be part of the single market, but you could work with the EU, and encourage the EU to work with us to actually liberalise with other countries collectively," he says.
