Birmingham's bin strikes are set to continue after workers overwhelmingly rejected a pay offer from the city council.
Union leaders argued that the proposal failed to address the threat of pay cuts for hundreds of bin lorry drivers, potentially reaching as much as £8,000.
In response, the council defended the offer as fair and reasonable, claiming that the union is protecting a role that does not exist in other councils.
The strike, now in its sixth week, has left thousands of tonnes of rubbish uncollected, raising concerns about a public health crisis.
